the ndis is here!
The NDIS provides people with disability choice and control over their lives and the supports they receive. Through the NDIS, people with disability will be able to access the reasonable and necessary supports they need, to live the life they want and achieve their goals and aspirations.
Many people see the NDIS as a once in a generation reform not dissimilar to the way Medicare brought universal health care to everyone during the 1970s. Regardless, it will provide much more opportunity for people with disability across Australia once it is fully rolled out. Replacing the inequitable State based system, the NDIS will provide an approach based on entitlement to support people with disability to lead more fulfilling lives.
The NDIS is currently being rolled out progressively across Australia, with full implementation being achieved by 2020. In our local areas of Sydney and South East Sydney we will see the rollout occur progressively as follows:
1 JULY 2017
Group Homes & High Community Support (100%)
Community Access & Community Support (75%)
Respite & Community Care (25%)
1 JANUARY 2018
Community Access & Community Support (25%)
Respite & Community Care (75%)
Respite & Community Care (75%)
